The t-shirt is grey; it has some obscure, kind of embarrassing, made up faux-US college soccer team motif that I bought on the cheap some time ago.
The reason that it is my favourite? It is very comfortable, and I just happened to be wearing it for the births of both of my sons (from which, fortunately, I have nothing but very fond memories).
it was a t-shirt from r.e.m.’s life’s rich pageant tour. I wore that shirt for years. it had holes the size of quarters in it. I could go on about the significance of the shirt to me, but if you saw it, tattered, worn almost gray after its original black, as thin as tissue, that would do that trick.
it changes as often as weekly, but my current favorite is my obama shirt from moveon.org. despite the fact that it doesn’t fit me well (too boxy), it’s so cool looking, and plus… it’s obama! what pisses me off is i keep wearing it to the gym and watching people’s faces as they pass me, and i have yet to get even a smile, much less a thumbs up or whatever. i live in a very progressive town, so i don’t get it. i had a dream last night that mccain won.
Over sized tee with a large, horribly drawn stick figure with a goofy smile, enormous penis and sack to match with “FAK YOU” scrawled underneath.
Got the opportunity to wear it once to a high school (fundie christian) event back in the 80s, and no one really noticed. One of those moments, I guess.
I designed the second annual scarwars website, and in payment received a tshirt. It’s got an illustration of a topless woman (pierced and tattooed) with a lot of flowy whatnots encompassing her, which on closer inspection you’ll see is bits of her flesh that have been sliced up. It sounds gruesome, but it’s rather pretty.
It’s my favorite because it’s the only tshirt I own with something printed on it and, though it’s a little tight, it’s actually started to fit me better as I’ve been losing weight.
Anna got some fabric markers while ago. I drew a turtle on one of my white undershirts and then wrote the word ‘TURTLE’ below it. That one’s probably my favorite.
I do not wear t-shirts–I find them unseemly. But I do buy them for others. My favorite is probably one I bought for Flannery years ago that Mia now wears as a night shirt. It’s a cobalt blue Sonic Youth shirt with a white washing machine on it. That’s a damn fine t-shirt. I’ve bought Daryl a million good t-shirts, but I’m not sure which is his favorite. I think mine is an old Bottle Rocket t-shirt that depicts the guys trying out guns at the shooting range. I’m also quite fond of a black t-shirt displaying an image of Walter (John Goodman) and the words “Over The Line!”
My favorite is the Bottle Rocket shirt Cindy bought for me a long time ago–along with a new red one that has Bottle Rocket on the front in black letters like the movie credits. I have other favorites, some plain brown and some gray, but I’m always ruining them when I paint a room in the house and back into a wet piece of trim. Brown Ts with big streaks of white on them.
I recently saw a very scruffy young man wearing a gray t with a single word printed on the front: Mama?
Mine is a tee that a great friend and collaborator (who I have never met in the real world) designed in Second Life for my birthday. It has door drawn on it on the left side of the chest, it’s slightly ajar and you can see the top of a heart inside, it also looks like someone doing a moonie. I liked it on my avatar so she mailed me the PSD files and I got it made at cafe press.
Mine is a dingy old t-shirt I got for playing at a college lacrosse tourney in West Virginia over Halloween weekend. It has a giant jack-o-lantern dude holding a lacrosse stick. Holy, yellowed, and smelly. I don’t really even wear it any more. I’m afraid if I put it on it will turn to dust.
right up there with that one is one I purchased in the same order. Grey, with “WW(batsignal)D” on it. another webcomic reference, but can be appreciated without the reference.
See, I’ve this theory that one’s favorite t-shirt might be as good a descriptor of personality as any.
Mine: dark gray; no logos, fits perfectly. I feel most like myself in it, unadorned yet put together. It suffices, as do I.

Reasonably stylish, combed cotton, with some abstract designs. Black on black. It’s nice.
For a long while it was this one: http://icanhaz.com/notcom
But it got too tight, and it was never very comfortable. I just liked what it said, even though I have no idea what it meant.
My new fave is hangs well and is medium blue, which is not my color, but I like how it feels. It is very soft. 50/50.
It has nothing on it.
(Which should disturb me because I spend a lot of time making t-shirts, in fact, I’m woefully behind on whipping one up for the flock)

It’s a threadless shirt: Miss Scarlet in the Hall with a Revolver. Always gets a reaction. Don’t fully understand why.

It’s a baby blue shirt advertising a 5K race that I never ran in a city that I never visited.

Mine is dirty brown with “I MAKE STUFF UP” across the front in block letters.
Dark green cotton t with an alien head with shades on it at chest level smugly smiling and the word groove underneath it. softest thing on the planet.
Aaron, I think we need a photo of that shirt.

its from Slaid Cleaves. The front reads “my drinking days are over…” and the back reads “…but I’m stil trouble bound.”

That said, my favorite shirt for lazing about in is my Relay for Life “Survivor” shirt. Two reasons
1. It’s something of a point of pride
2. It’s so very purple that I can’t help but be amused by it. It’s the purplest thing I own.
apparently firefox agrees with me that “purplest” is a word, even though “firefox” isn’t.
