I bought a new stereo with 15″ woofers in cabinets the size of refrigerator boxes. This was on the first LP I bought (my forever departure from 8-track), I believe it was Earth, Wind & Fire’s Greatest Hits. I would drop the needle then dial up the volume, only about half way, and nearly shake the house apart. Honestly, you could lay on the floor and the bass beats would bounce you up off the carpet.

Their music still makes my hair stand up but then I think about the costumes and I just smile.
