Friends of mine tell a story about how, when driving up Highway 50 to South Lake Tahoe, they came around a bend in the road to find a small car (I always picture an early '90's Civic) with a crushed front end and a large bear attempting to pull itself off the roadway.

Of course, I always want to know more about the injured parties, but my friends were on their way to some casino and only slowed down enough to avoid the scene then speed off to Nevada.
