’Scuse me

for not saying nothing today. Hope you weren’t thinking me rude. I was just busy. Had to drive up into Wisconsin and back.

Is that a low-cut frock but no bird’s-nest hair?

  4. Sheila Ryan on October 4th, 2008 at 10:53 am

    Frock. I love that word.

MGS: I saw London. I saw France. But that was a few years back.

I mean, would it be in order to say ample? It’s the only word I dare risk right now.

Will you need to drive up to Wisconsin and back any day soon?

I assume, since Cindy appears to be still seated behind her drum kit, that you were requesting pardon for the reversed apostrophe.

  12. Sheila Ryan on October 5th, 2008 at 10:39 am

I request pardon for any number of sins. That apostrophe, though — that wants fixing.

  13. Sheila Ryan on October 5th, 2008 at 10:44 am

Thank you so, India. All offense removed, I pray.

How ye like school, by the bye? Ye like yer teachers?

  14. Phil Bebbington on October 5th, 2008 at 10:47 am

So I could have used “reversed apostrophe” instead of ample? Mmmm, interesting….and Sheila, please don’t go fixin’ yer apostrophes…they look just fine!

  15. Sheila Ryan on October 5th, 2008 at 10:48 am

    That’s ’cause I fix ‘em.

  16. Alek on October 5th, 2008 at 11:12 am

Sheila when you saw London, saw France, were they ample or reversed apostrophe’s a few years back

My memory ain’t so good, so I’ll have to check the only photo remaining of any of them excursions. And that’s a copy of a copy, and it’s in a scrapbook in a distant city. But I will check and report back.

As always, you get out of school whatever you put into it. Me, I’ve been putting in just enough time to mostly keep up (for totally stupid reasons, I’m still working ~30 hours a week), so, not surprisingly, I’m getting my ass kicked and not really enjoying that all too much.

Re teachers, one’s great, one’s a high okay, one’s terrible, and one doesn’t exactly teach. Three of them are younger than I am.

On the bright side, I’ve lost eight pounds. It’s kind of expensive for a diet program, but I’m allowed to eat whatever I want, provided I can find the time to do so, and I don’t have to wear any spandex.

Well, you have a Real Job, so that’s always hard — to juggle being a schoolgirl and a serious working girl, I mean. Last time I did the school thing, I was working only 20 hours — same place I was taking classes, more or less — still, kind of a flunky job, though fun — plus being a late-night DJ and studying bookblnding on weekends. It was kinda fun. ‘Course, I was 28 . . . 29 . . . .

    Oh - you’re in a car.

It took me until now to notice that.

    Nice shot by the way!

  21. Sheila Ryan on October 6th, 2008 at 10:04 am

    In a car in Wisconsin!

    Thank you, Tracy.

  23. Tracy on October 6th, 2008 at 6:09 pm

Shadows are more than the absence of light.
