Today is one of those days I remember
when Dallas boys were inspired and went to London.

me: its not is it?
Sheila: Nope. But it might well have been.
Sometimes “might well have been” is as good as was.
What a wonderful photo Sheila, feels like a snapshot of my youth. All the signage around the shop, the clothes….oh my the clothes! I must confess I never had the balls to dress in this way or the money for that matter, but the whole sense of it is delicious. Having said all of that…my hair was like that and pretty much stayed like that until I joined the police in 1980…I remember day one being sent to the barber to have it all shorn off – traumatised! But that’s another story.
Imagine dressing like this once you’re back in Dallas!
Sheila I have never been to Dallas or indeed that part of the states but I would imagine this kind of attire may have attracted attention in 1972 and possibly now also.
What a photo! I wish I knew where it was taken. Perhaps I walked down that very street. . . .
Cooper, ye may have walked down that very street — but not thus attired.
Phil, it’s all changed now here in the States. Boys and girls, men and women — all dress as they choose. Except when Cooper commands them to change into their big pants or their little pants.
Which is to say, their trousers.
I feel sure that the Bay City Rollers must have gotten hold of a copy of this photo and based their mid 70′s look on it!
Well I am close getting to the point where BIG pants will be needed, these small pants just ain’t doing their job this time of year.
And Nick “Jesus of Cool” Lowe must have sneaked a look as well.
You’re welcome, Sheila, the mimetic is my specialty.
I dig mimesis.
