color-your-own electoral college map

As a kid, I remember watching election returns (Nixon v. McGovern…) with crayons and a map, planning to tally the states as the results were announced.  Hoping for a better outcome this go round, I’ve mashed together a new map, based on the electoral votes per state.  You can download a printable copy and color along with the returns tomorrow night.

I read the title of this post as “Color Your Own Rectal College Map.”

Fixin’ to color. I’d hoped to hit the road early enough to swing through Chicago for the rally tonight, but it looks like that ain’t gonna happen. So I’m sharpening my colored pencils.

Got home from working at my Pittsburgh polling place all day – just in time to see Pennsylvania called for Obama. Getting my blue crayon out… and alternately humming Sam Cooke’s “Change is gonna come” and whatever I remember of “Happy Days are Here Again.”

It is a great day – typing now through tears of joy and gratitude – so many worked so hard for this moment.
