Finances Abroad

A couple of weeks ago an abandoned shopping trolley appeared outside our house. I noticed it one morning as I left for work.

Later that day, as I returned, I found a man stooped over the trolley’s handle, his elbow moving furiously back and forth. He was standing where I normally lock my bike, so I politely asked him to move. He was shocked to hear my voice, as he hadn’t heard or seen me coming up behind him…

    Wow, that’s a great story. A huge effort made for a very small reward. That kind of sums it up for me….

    I know–it’s like hearing a whimper accidentally escape from a person in a crowd, a terrible private truth that flashes by.
