I am ever so slightly double-jointed.

    I’m double jointed in the same way. Can you pull your thumb back to a 90 degree angle?

    Because of the underlighting there is a sense here that the hand is possibly disconnected from a body, but at the very least it is levitating rather than being held up.

    Sheila, do you remember Allen’s double-jointed thumbs?

    If you mean that thing where the base joint of the thumb can be made to looke like it has popped out of a socket, alas, no. It is not in my repertoire.
