		<description>Time was when there was a night club atop the Allerton Hotel in Chicago, and it was called the Tip Top Tap. (Get it?) And until just a few years ago, though the &#039;tap&#039; was defunct, the letters TIP-TOP-TAP remained atop the Allerton Hotel. And every time I saw them, I thought of the opening lines of &lt;em&gt;Lolita&lt;/em&gt;.</description>

		<description>The bit from Lolita sounds better in English. But maybe that&#039;s just me. I have a tape of him reading substantial portions of the book (in English). He did great work with butterflies, which is another thing I like about him. And his autobiography, &lt;i&gt;Speak, Memory&lt;/i&gt;, is splendid. Thank you drive through.</description>
