I feel like I want to buy somebody something. Who has something they want for between thirty and fifty dollars?

There’s something I want that’s fifty-two dollars, but it’s out of stock, alas.

    what?

Something the coyotes might be able to help me with, at least in part. No, not a raccoon penis bone necklace.

I think this may be one of the rare instances on which I will demur with a coy, “May I have a word with you in private?”

We should form a Clusterflock pack. Twenty of these would be a good start.

    $50.00

  6. Deron Bauman on December 31st, 2008 at 1:10 pm

Do you want twenty of these, Garrett?

  7. Deron Bauman on December 31st, 2008 at 1:13 pm

actually, I just figured it out. I’ll buy four people a copy of Daryl’s new book.

who wants one who hasn’t ordered one yet?

My home is lacking a taste of Scroggins. I would take one.

You’ve also inspired me to throw another $50 at kiva.org.

Well I’d love to read Daryl’s new book. The “expands in your mind, not on the page” bit sounds a bit fantastic. I’d be delighted to read a Scroggins in some depth.

I’ve been thinking lately that it could be beneficial to start up a Clusterfund, in the style of an office place “cards and flowers” collection. To support to such good works as the ‘flock sees fit. I’d throw in the cost of a round of drinks, from time to time.

  17. Deron Bauman on December 31st, 2008 at 2:58 pm

Mike, I think that is a great idea. would you make a post / set up a paypal account?

  18. Joseph Abrahamson on December 31st, 2008 at 3:07 pm

I could use some hallucinatory precision, still in a giving mood?

  19. Deron Bauman on December 31st, 2008 at 3:32 pm

    absolutely!

send me your address and I’ll send one your way.

I thought I had missed Santa and here he comes with sticky thread on his fingers, offering hallucinatory words. On the last day of the year!

  21. Cooper Renner on December 31st, 2008 at 3:55 pm

Really outstandingly generous and wise, Deron. Daryl, Kathryn and I thank you.

  22. Daryl Scroggins on December 31st, 2008 at 4:36 pm

Oh sweet baby Jesus thank you Deron. I’m stunned.

  23. Deron Bauman on December 31st, 2008 at 4:52 pm

Ooh! Ooh! I claimed an un-Christmas present at the P.O. I am wild with glee. And why not? FIfty Phil Ochs fans can’t be wrong, though it’s not that album. It’s even more special. Way more special.

  25. Cindy Scroggins on December 31st, 2008 at 5:28 pm

You’re a dear man, Deron Bauman.

  26. Sheila Ryan on December 31st, 2008 at 5:35 pm

That you are, Deron. That you are.

  27. Rick Neece on January 1st, 2009 at 6:05 am

  28. Michael Grant Smith on January 1st, 2009 at 9:50 am

Deron, buy yourself something shiny. Go on.

  29. Amanda Mae Meyncke on January 1st, 2009 at 12:27 pm

You guys are all so sweet.

  30. Michael Smith on January 1st, 2009 at 12:56 pm

I’ve been away for a few days I missed the boat. I guess I’ll just have to buy Daryl’s book myself (planned on it anyway).

Oh…and as it happens, it’s payday!

  31. Michael Smith on January 1st, 2009 at 1:02 pm

Mike D. – I love the Clusterfund idea. It was terrific fun when Dave got that bottle of Stoli.
