rooflines

On some back streets, the Pittsburgh neighborhood of lower Lawrenceville is a collage of building materials, siding types, and irregular rooflines.

    Elizabeth, your eye is magical. (Saying this puts me in mind of Alek’s bhuddametric musings on seeing.)

    The houses are at least as old as the tree. The wavy lines in your illustration lend a congruency. Many of the buildings in Pittsburgh’s old neighborhoods belong to the landscape as much as the urban forest. Thank you, Elizabeth!
