Deron, you make me laugh. I just went over back over there and looked at the comments to the interview. I think Deron and Sheila can attest to the fact that I am not in any sense massive and don’t see myself as massive. It is indeed a bit of a marvel to me that anyone thinks I have any sort of ‘power’ at all.
i think our use of the word ‘massive’ means you are important to a lot of people, which you are, and have done a lot for language, which you have. you are massive for words in all the best ways.
Splendid, Coop. I have always loved your voice–in person and in your poetry and prose. You have a way of bringing a calmness to readers’ minds–which in turn allows complex ideas and images to form with power and clarity. I hear you often when I am reading any poetry that moves me, and any prose that makes its way through the dark with assurance.
Cooper, I don’t know you that well, just through the words of others and some music I threw your way, but I really enjoyed this. Nice to have more of a sense of a person – really liked the drawing as well.
hell yeah.

This is wonderful, Cooper–and much deserved. Great drawing, too!

Great questions asked by Blake Butler and great responses given by Cooper.
