pinky and the brain

Yesterday I took the bandage off the end of my index finger. The skin on the top of the knuckle used to be the bottom of the finger. When I rub the top of the finger, now, I feel it underneath.

That just scares me. But I bet your brain will re-learn the expected location of sensation. Is that something that happens?

I wonder if a person could ever have a wireless connection to removed body parts? Send an ear to somebody and listen to the opening of the box it arrives in.

yeah, I hope it rewires! it was actually like I was feeling it on the top *and* the bottom. double the sensation. no thanks. it seems to have lessened today.

This is interesting. Will your brain rewire? I just listened to a thing on NPR about Lazy Eyes and how the brain reprograms itself to see out of just one eye so it isn’t confused by double vision. But that happens at a very young age.

I suppose if it’s different today you must be reprograming. Perhaps we can get you a little status bar…

I almost said something nasty about self stimulation but I didn’t.
