Google blacklists entire internet

This revealing little incident happened yesterday. Put down to ‘human error’ of course, every single page in the internet was listed as “This site may harm your computer”. Peculiarly enough, though:

Google’s paid search results appeared not to have been affected.

    Even if there is a way to understand that absolves Google of malign intent, an elegant metaphor rests therein (while leaving open the question of who or what this agent ‘Google’ may be).
