The Byrds
Just one more reason why we love the Byrds. Dig McGuinn’s ‘granny’ glasses. I had a pair (with blue lenses) in 7th grade–i.e. before Sheila knew me.

Mine were yellow. I listened to WLS/Chicago late into the night on a busted brown bakelite AM clock radio I got for 50 cents at a paper route customer’s yard sale.
I had a transistor radio I could fit in my shirt pocket. I could listen to music while riding my bike. The big pop/rock station in Dallas was KLIF. Oddly its owner turned out, if I remember correctly, to be a rabid right-winger.
