thoughts, questions, original art and content and links to stuff we think is of interest; a group blog dedicated to pretty much everything. by people you would like to meet at a party; proof of intelligent life on the planet; inhabited by Internet hunter gatherers in the pre-apocalyptic realm; a destination that offers constellations of stimulating links to popular (and not so popular) culture; a group blog dedicated to culture: art, design, music, food, architecture, science, travel, movies, books, typography, politics, etc.; inclusive of geezers!; a delightful mixture of orange words and pictures of well, the insides of a stuffed animal–delightful all the same; the social network I never thought I’d join.

Little Feat's "Apolitical Blues"

Televisions' "Marquee Moon"

Sonic Youth's "Teenage Riot"

In each of these three songs, I hear the intro and immediately anticipate the joy the rest of the tune brings to me, whether it's the stoner humor of Lowell George, the dual guitars of Verlaine and Lloyd or the hipster caterwaul that Sonic Youth was when I saw them perform (the Goo tour?) back when I was in college.

Inspired by Sheila, I'll both recommend a Bowie and suggest that it's not so much the intro per se but where I know the song is going from there:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHywdqH3F6Y

"Scary Monsters"

I'd also like to recommend Love's "A House Is Not a Motel" which seems to be available on youtube only in late live versions which can only approximate the studio perfection of the Forever Changes version.

Rick, there is always time for one more cocktail! I can always squeeze a Martini or a Manhattan in - As for A3 - I'm sure I have another album somewhere but for some reason I don't have it loaded into itunes! I do remember Rhiannon but not with any clarity.
