Discovered
We’ve added a new clusterflock category–Discovered. We hope you’ll use this category to point the rest of us to little known artists whose works amaze you.
I want to start with someone whose photos I recently discovered on etsy, of all places. I mean, I like etsy–it’s a great place to get a hand-knitted scarf, for instance, and I found a pair of oven mitts stenciled “Sylvia Plath” for my daughter’s wedding gift. But I never expected to find anything as marvelous as what I came upon the other day:

Yellow and Sometimes by Erin Tyner. From her Half Awake series. See more.

Wow, I had no idea that people are selling . . . well, other than scarves and jewelry et cetera on etsy. Shows you how much I know.
Thank you, Cindy.
love it.
After finding these photos, I started searching and found all kinds of amazing things on etsy. Like a little taxidermied goat on a platter. And a very nice dead sparrow. And, Sheila, I even found a taxidermied ermine dressed in a tiara. It’s left me all conflibberated–I feel the need to keep looking, lest I miss something.
By the way, I purchased prints of the two photos here and plan to buy several more. I love what Erin is doing with miniatures.
Goat on a platter! Ermine princess! Oh, my. This spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E to me. I’d best take care lest I get my financial bidnis in a jam again.
I know, I know–I’m sorry, Sheila. I’m in the same little boat. My first impulse upon finding these things was to keep them to myself, as my own little secret (lest they get popular and, therefore, expensive). But in the end, I decided not to be so selfish.
Besides, I’m pretty sure the market for taxidermied goats on platters is limited to about 6 of us worldwide.
