I might be one of few Southerners who doesn’t make Red Velvet cake. I tried it once and didn’t like it and couldn’t see the big fascination with it. I’d much prefer a Texas chocolate sheet cake.
Red velvet cake is nasty. I know it to be true, and India confirms it.
I do, however, know a southern Illinoisan whose husband sent her to heaven on her birthday with a dual gift of red velvet cake and a DVD of Douglas Sirk’s Imitation of Life.
