Meet Vincent, my favourite hipster in Arles

Here in the hipster community in Arles, we’ve been really lucky to have the totally awesome M. Paul Gauguin staying in our intimate community for the past two months, on artist residency at the Yellow House artist collective. But Vincent Van Gogh is the dude who nagged at M. Gauguin to get his arse over here, so like, totally kudos to Vincent and we’d like to give him a shout out right now also because he’s had a pretty shitty time lately, having had his ear cut off this past week. M. Gauguin has uh, moved on now and we certainly hope he has had a good time in Arles and will remember the nightlife here fondly. We’re looking forward to seeing Arles in the paintings he made while he was here.
Oh yeah, so if you’re interested, you can also look at Vincent’s paintings out in the Yellow House. Nobody much likes the paintings, they’re kinda silly and wacky, but we like Vincent anyway, he’s cool. Very very weird, but that’s ok.

Dude, he is weird and no mistake, but sometimes you almost think he knows what’s doing.
Every time I talk to him he says, “Ar-les.” Wacky.
Yeah and he’s a bit funny about how he pronounces his name too. But we’d better humour him. He’s been doing some very weird shit since he got out of hospital. There’s talk about closing up his house and kicking him out of town altogether. I like him, you know? I mean, his paintings are embarrassing but he’s kooky.
Oh, you mean that choking-coughing thing he does when he says ‘Gogh’? I honestly do not know whether he would do better to consult a physician or an alienist.
