One of my favorites
Mike Dresser took the picture and you can find more like it on the clusterflock flickr stream.
Cindy’s Bruised Elbow
Cindy had too much to drink, tried to look up at the stars–and promptly pitched over. It’s just a matter of time before we get an image of Jesus in one of her bruises.

Spiritualized meets Tarkovsky
I play with music and clips, just for fun. Some work and some don’t. I do kinda love this tune though and the film, well, tis long.

Hurray for the Bud Billiken Parade and for the Woodson Regional Branch of the Chicago Public Library! Hurrah!

Abbott-Sengstacke Family Papers/Chicago Public Library. President Harry S. Truman, left, John H. Sengstacke and Mayor Richard J. Daley of Chicago in the 1956 Bud Billiken Parade.
This is cool. My archival-collegial friend Michael Flug is cool. You’ll find him quoted in the Times if you read on down.

Man admits to having sex with a thousand cars.
He added: “I’m not sick and I don’t want to hurt anyone, cars are just my preference.”

I thought that perhaps I ought to reveal myself as well. Self portraits are an interesting exercise. It took years for me to have the courage to take one and even longer to have the balls to show them in public. This probably isn’t showing my best side. I rarely smile at the camera, although I think I am different in person. For those who are interested, here I am with a little more colour in my cheeks.
Once again, thanks for having me.
$ucce$$
A few brief words on what exactly it is that you want out of life,
Now if you think like I do, but allow yourself to be cowed by parents and friends and the manifold suggestions emanating from a money-grubbing society in which ‘success’ is spelled ‘$ucce$$’ and pronounced ‘suck-cess’ into thinking that you must be ‘practical’ and put economic and career considerations above all others, then you may wake up one morning a rich shyster or medico but with deep regrets that you didn’t have the courage to pursue your dream.
Meet the Flockers: Phil Bebbington
I take photographs. Mostly, that’s what I do. If I’m not taking them, I’m processing them or looking at them. I also post them on a photo blog and gallery. I used to read but seem to have lost the ability in recent years. I do, however, still buy books.
I just realised I forgot to age myself! Born on the 20th January 1958.
I live in the beautiful Georgian city of Bath in England. I was a police officer for 17 years until it made me ill. Now I grab work where I can.
I spend a lot of time on the Greek island of Crete. Things make sense in Crete.
So, I mostly take photos. I’m not aware that I’m trying to say anything in my photos. I just wander and take photos of what pleases me and hope that they please others as well. They mostly contain human activity or humans, not a conscious decision but it seems mostly that’s what happens.
I’m touched that I have been asked to join this wonderful place. I guess I have been either commenting or posting for about a year, so nothing need change. I’m happy to be here.
