India, I'll pretty much eat any fish other than live - I'm wondering how they might be marketed over here - I adore fish - fresh, cooked or preserved - oh, raw as well.

Happy herring season!

My friend Karen and I visited Russ & Daughters last Monday, on Herring Eve, and the counter guys said they were braced for an onslaught. (Not in those words.)

I'm not a big fan of raw fish, so the only time I've had matjes herring was when I was in Rotterdam in '01, but I understand that if you like that sort of thing, then that's the sort of thing you like. Anybody had any?

If I could write one stretch of prose half so fine as the pieces collected in Ivor Cutler's Scotch Sitting Room, I could die with a smile on my face.
