What’s Hecuba to him, or he to Hecuba, that he should weep for her?

What’s Hecuba to him, or he to Hecuba,
That he should weep for her? What would he do,
Had he the motive and the cue for passion
That I have? He would drown the stage with tears
And cleave the general ear with horrid speech;
Make mad the guilty and appal the free,
Confound the ignorant, and amaze indeed
The very faculties of eyes and ears.

Hamlet. Act II. Scene 2.

    When you lose someone you hold dearly, you want to honour their memory by behaving appropriately, as you have been thought by society is expected of you. But often you are in shock. You can’t cry, you feel numb, you go through your daily tasks on automatic. Then you see someone in a movie play a death scene – they are so articulate and open about their grief and you berate yourself because you can’t behave or feel like that, even though you think you should.
