Was it just my connection, or did there seem to be a fair amount of lag between the movements of the player and the movement of the avatar on the screen? Of course, can’t go too hard on the technology since it doesn’t even have a release date yet.
I think it has a LOT of potential. The games showcased here were very wii-like, but there’s also potential this could replace touchscreens and take them to a level of prominence and versatility they could never attain.
There also seem to be some concerned that some of the software showcased recently at the E3 were -too- immersive and could result in some emotional damage to children, for example, when their AI friend glitched or crashed. I’m a little skeptical of those claims.
But to be fair, I should recommend newsy.com’s video about the expo, since they offer the concerns about the over-immersion (specifically about the new AI kid “Milo”) that people have. They also mention something called Avatar that I’ll have to check out later…
The over-immersion problem is an interesting question, but I have serious doubts about those problems as well (in a few more years, however, I could see it). Regardless, I agree it has a ton of potential, but I have yet to see Nintendo really capitalize on the Wii control scheme. That said, I don’t own a Wii.
Regardless, I am excite to see where this all leads.
Love the idea, but that painting sucked.
Those friends seem like a lot of fun.

There was a bit of lag, Daniel.
