Pontefract Cakes might make the perfect Pasties (not Cornish) – kind of suck ‘em and see!
Phil, I’m not sure all that many people here in the States know about “suck it and see”. They might think you are being risqué.
Urban Dictionary has this to say of “suck it and see”:
Charming British expression referring to trying out something untested or kind of unknown. It’s really a metaphor – the new thing is like a boiled sweet, the uknown consequences are the flavour, so you “suck it and see”!
“Shit fella, I’m not so sure about these shiny pants. They look pretty gay.”
“No worries mate – suck it and see. You might get lucky”.
In my experience, to suck and see is a must!
I suppose if you never suck, you’ll never see.
Sheila, you’ve got it by jove!
I think it must be a misspent youth and Ray Davies.
So if I present myself to the proper authorities, they’ll grant me citizenship?
Or at least some kind of honorary thing like those fancy rosettes you hand out left and right to aging rock stars?
I’ve already got my own Union Jack.
Oh, we hand out awards and citizenship quite willy nilly.
If you have the flag you have all you need.
You’re not handing me a load of malarkey now, are you?
