Our own Mary Jeys
“We want people to be excited,” said artist Mary Jeys, 30, who dreamed up the Greenpoint greenbacks. “This medium of exchange has more to do with meeting people and feeling that you’re connected to a community versus a monetary system.”
And noticed at Marginal Revolution, no less.

Deron, thanks so much for posting this. I’m caught in a maelstrom of overwhelming attention, and I feel like y’all are the only ones I care about. Remember when you asked last night who we miss in a Dear Clusterflock? I don’t mean to sound schmaltzy when I say Clusterflock. I love and miss you guys, I really do.
I love you, Mary. We love you.
Awwww. Mary deserves fete-ing and parade-ing and all of it. Kielbasa.
Oh, Mary, you’re the best.
Hooray! Mary!
Yay, Mary!
Mary rocks! I love Mary!
Rock on, Mary! (I have it on good authority that STColeridge and all the Pantisocratic band are with you on this!)
Good on ya, Mary. Congrats.
