In Esperanto, it’s very easy to do this sort of thing. All you have to do is change the vowel at the end of the word. So since hundo is dog, to dog someones footsteps would be hundi I expect.
The same goes for making a word an adjective or an adverb.

This is great. I love this. Although it’s not strictly correct, everyone does it and it makes sense. Why not embrace it?
