New York City’s public health officials have unveiled a graphic new ad campaign:
The ad does raise the interesting issue of what, exactly, fat looks like.
“We had to make sure it looked like real human fat,” said Ms. Nonas, of the health department. “We did want those little blood vessels and things like that.”

Maybe I’m just an insensitive jerk, but I think a soda tax is a perfectly fine idea. The taxes on cigarettes in New York turned several of my smoking friends into non-smokers.

The best law–hands down–in NYC is the one that requires the calorie count posted on the menus of chain restaurants. Can’t tell you the number of times this information has informed my dining choices.
I keep trying, but apparently I’m pouring wrong.
