    I’ve not seen this clip, Phil, but I know the song well–from Antony’s “I Am a Bird Now” CD. I believe it to be the saddest song in all the world. Several years ago, as I was leaving a friend’s funeral, I put my iPod on shuffle and, as luck would have it, this song came up. I had to pull the car over and weep for what seemed like an eternity.

    I love him, but rarely listen to him, because his music bums me out. That voice just breaks my heart! I can only manage to listen to the song he did with Hercules & Love Affair (I think that’s the name). I can’t resist sadness set to a dance beat.

    Sheila, I think that this is the nicest version I have found.

    Teresa, I know what you mean – I’m not sure what it says about me, but, I often positively seek out such music. I seem to get some kind of perverse pleasure form the discomfort it causes me.
