    Oh that bear was drunk.

I think it would be great if he escaped and went flashing away on frozen rivers, a blur passing in the moonlight.

As I said to my lady companion when she shared this with me:
“Let’s take a FUCKING BEAR, strap some RAZOR BLADES to its FEET, put it on a sheet of ICE, HARASS and CONFUSE it, and see what happens.”

What if one night all of the cats in that Moscow Cat Circus turn on the humans?

Yeah I can’t stand it when these stories end with “the bear was shot and died at the scene.” It’s the happy-ever-after ending of those kinds of stories. Renegade bear? Any bear or animal would act according to its nature in those circumstances. People don’t understand this because the ones who are training them to tapdance on ice are already deeply divorced from their own wild natures.

I love the idea of the bear slipping into the Moscow night, dancing off into the hinterland, elegantly, having somehow escaped with its life, its spirit and the best of what humankind could have taught it.
