Amy: Get a perm.
Sarah: That’s permanent!

    My hair is naturally curly. I remember in the early 70s wanting hair like Marc Bolan so bad. It just wouldn’t do what his did – I did for a short time consider a perm. It was a close thing!

    I briefly sported a retro-Bolanesque ‘do around 1979 (retro in that it was reminiscent of Bolan circa 1968-1972 or so).

    Unlike Bolan’s ‘do, mine was very very very red.

    My turquoise terrycloth suit* set it off well.

    I wish I still had a photograph.

    * Not a ‘sweatsuit’, but a proper suit with a constructed jacket. And pegged trousers.
