That every morning is a chance to not repeat the past.
I am very thankful. In fact, I was thinking just this morning of the importance of feeling thankful, when it is so much easier to feel shit upon. The very act of giving thanks, of feeling gratitude, lifts the spirit. So here are some of the many things for which I am thankful:
Daryl continues to love me and put up with me and take care of me and laugh at my caustic observations.
Mia is a happy little person.
I have an often rewarding job that pays me a shitload of money and in which I am granted far more freedom than I ever could have expected.
The world is still here and is still beautiful, despite my worries.

I am thankful for Cindy, and for the Milky Way–which may be very clearly seen in Marfa.
