thoughts, questions, original art and content and links to stuff we think is of interest; a group blog dedicated to pretty much everything. by people you would like to meet at a party; proof of intelligent life on the planet; inhabited by Internet hunter gatherers in the pre-apocalyptic realm; a destination that offers constellations of stimulating links to popular (and not so popular) culture; a group blog dedicated to culture: art, design, music, food, architecture, science, travel, movies, books, typography, politics, etc.; inclusive of geezers!; a delightful mixture of orange words and pictures of well, the insides of a stuffed animal–delightful all the same; the social network I never thought I’d join.

I have an allergy to latex, and developed a rash a few years ago around the waistlne where my underwear hit.

I found a company in Colorado that made boxers that buttoned up, and I bought a bunch. They weren't cheap, and I was disappointed that they didn't last too long---they all developed tears in the seams that I'd like to attribute to my enormous penis, but more realistically they just weren't made to last.

I ended up finding a prescription ointment that got rid of the rash.

Thankfully a hairy back and chest have never been an issue for me. Of course, I'd never survive in the wild if some bear nicked my clothes whilst bathing in a stream. An unlikely scenario I know, but still!

Would it, seriously, be possible to link the preference on non-hairy chests to 'hippiedom' and early '70s musical androgyny, or is it just Madison Avenue and underwear models?

Aw, Cooper, you know the answer to your question concerning the history of hairy chests and their non-acceptance.

It was when boys started growing their hair long and wearing sissy clothes and before long you couldn't tell the boys from the girls.

But seriously -- ahem --

In 'matters of the cloth' (fashion, broadly considered), you just have to adopt a completely different mental timeline.
