I used a paint scraper used to get paint of window glass. It worked pretty well and ended up making the removal of the remaining glue residue much easier. There is another company, <a href="http://www.cameraleather.com/" rel="nofollow">Camera Leather</a>, that offers other options for replacement coverings. If you decide to do it, show us!
