J.D. Salinger dies

J.D. Salinger, the legendary author, youth hero and fugitive from fame whose “The Catcher in the Rye” shocked and inspired a world he increasingly shunned, has died. He was 91.

Fuck me.

    I’ve wondered about this day for so long. Now that it’s here, I’m not sure how to respond.

    I’ll take comfort in the hope that he’s been sitting on a whole mess of unreleased novels.
