My immediate reaction, Andrew, is to say, Sure, why not? The literature of disillusion has a long tradition, and overall its makers are neither more nor less fallible that those who produce visionary literature.
Lanier strikes me as one of those eye-witness/participants whose recollections and insights can be valuable in a limited kind of way so long as you don’t mistake them for wisdom.
