Almost Perfect

Her arms are almost in a perfect line, and I keep looking at it wishing they were.

Okay–do you think her lower arm ought to be lifted a little or her upper forearm pushed down a little? I have a definite opinion about this. Also, maybe if she fell face-first into the water the angle would go right just as she hit.

Upper arm pushed down. A smidge. If she had to lift her back arm it would be a bigger move.

Damn. Okay okay you’re right. I just didn’t want her to look like one of those people who grab hands behind the back and start popping everything. I hate seeing that.

Daryl I keep thinking maybe it’s better that it isn’t perfectly aligned. Makes it a more interesting image to look at. If it was all symmetrical, (what I would do) then it would be too perfect.

I think you are right. This way the image takes on the lack that very well might be the source of the wistfulness. Although then the pose comes closer to being a kind of Scarlet cliche.

That girl’s white as a goat.

The first woman that I met her
I did not expect a specter
When I shook her hand I really shook a glove
She looked into me so sweetly
And we left the room discreetly
No one else could know the secret of our love

    Little ghost, little ghost
One I’m scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I’m the only one that sees you,
And I can’t do much to please you
And it’s not yet time to meet the lord above
