It’s always good to see John Hodgman as Resident Expert. But I have to go with Jason Jones. His coverage of Palin’s resignation and Wasilla, AK were brilliant.
I really liked Steve Carrell back in the day, god he was so funny. There was one where he was in a city and it was getting bombed and he didnt know it and freaked out.
John Oliver
Stephen Colbert.
I’m going with Steve Carrell based solely on the spot where Stephen Colbert gets him drunk at the restaurant.
lately it’s been Wyatt Cenac.
Demetri Martin, but ONLY as a Daily Show correspondent. Less so, oddly, on his own show.

Samantha Bee is consistently funny, and I think she’s the best at doing pieces with actual people.
Past: Colbert. Current: Larry Wilmore (though he’s not on very much), followed closely by Hodgman.
I prefer the heyday of Colbert, Carrell, etc., which is why I rarely watch The Daily Show, but always watch The Colbert Report.
Well, somebody needs to mention Samantha Bee. That woman has balls.
Every person associated with that show is brilliant.
I don’t wanna pick.
I’m with Teresa on Wilmore and Hodgman.
I also like John Oliver.
