This is charming. It puts me in mind of a scene from an old film, perhaps one of the Our Gang comedies. You remind me of the tomboy, Mary Ann. And it makes a nice illustration to accompany these recollections of your childhood.
Coop~ The picture was taken with one of those old Polaroid cameras with a bellows. Fairly cutting edge at the time, I guess. All of our family pictures from that era have the most lovely gray scales and sharp focus. I love the way they smell too. What was that pink colored stick that had to be rubbed on the picture?
Rick~ That is a long lead rope (lunge line) in the grass. I don’t remember that particular day, but my sister and I pretty much ran wild with our ponies from the time we were old enough to walk. We had many days like that one. My mom still lives there, and Nugget, who lived to be 39, is buried there. The two horses I have now live there and graze in the same pasture. I’m 50 years old, and ride in the same woods.
Kathy, do you remember the story? The lasso on the ground, in the foreground? Do you remember standing for the photo? Nugget is beautiful.
What sharp light!

Our Gang! Yes.
Kathy, I think we must have had a similar Polaroid. It was very big and heavy, with the bellows. Cool.
