    Ooo, Lucy! Beautiful!

    I don’t really speak jazz. I think I understand it on some emotional level. That is, I can’t speak in the words a musician might use to describe it, (a teutonic or tectonic scale?) but the dissonant harmonies and loping rhythms are as delicious as the lyric. They come together to form something…emotional I can’t name. It gets into my craw. I will wake up with this melody, these words, firmly implanted in mind.

    Cool. This is one of Ross’ songs. He asked me to sing on it because he thought I understood about ladybugs, ever since I found one in some plastic wrapped broccoli and fed her my aphids.
