This isn’t my absolute favourite of the bunch, but it is the most complete single image of the spirit of working class Thatcherism that I have ever seen.

Yeah, Jesus, I’ve just seen that one now.

Wow, these all do it for me. I particularly like 3, 10 & 13.

Is the sauna man in any of those? He’s my favourite.

I’m not sure which one you mean. There’s a good one that features a near naked scowling man seated with family on a blanket at lake’s shore (it appears). My two favorites are the man & family with greyhound, and the woman obscured by two balloons, with girl, at the zoo.

I mean him. This is the set I got the shot of the house from.

    ditto on the greyhound.

    They are all fabulous.

Love this, Lucy. I had a Capri like that in gold with a beige vinyl roof.

I’m thinking, it might be time for vinyl roofs to return. However, the brow/gold/ beige combination?

Lucy, that whole set is stunning and the sense of flashback to my youth makes me ache.

Phil! My first car was a Capri like that. White, 1972, vinyl roof. I got someone to paint a pink rose on the driver’s-side door (I was 16–what can I say?)

And Lucy, yes–these photos are wonderful.

Mine was a 73 and we were born in the same year – that must mean something and if it doesn’t, I’m gonna make something up.

Okay, when you know what it means, tell me.
