zing!
I stumbled on this after a report of James Blake yelling at Shriver for reporting too loudly during a match.
It must be cached because the wiki page has been edited, but here’s to unedited moments.
(Wow, I just went back to check, and it’s already been removed from cache.)
Fuck, watch me reporting, this story is breaking fucking news:

oh well.
That was beautiful to behold.
That is excellent. We had computer techs but a few early adaptors (ers) on the news side where I worked and one of them would do crazy things like that when people were taking tours. A group of kids were in the newsroom once, watching news spew across the wires.
A friend of mine (from Pasadena, Texas, where else) kept sending little blurbs busting into stories on one wire machine about Nelson Mandela or whatever saying things like, “Hi kids, what’s shaking?” and “Don’t be afraid, computers don’t bite!” The kids were staring, elbowing each other, laughing and their teachers trying to get them to stop. The wire was talking to them only on one machine, of course, but they didn’t know that. The culprit sat like a sphinx, a tiny little corner of his mouth upturned.
Which I found out only after he confessed. Because he kept doing it to me after I stood at various little ticking machines stripping off copy saying “what the heck” for months!!!!
