dear clusterflock
I am mucking around with ideas for a new site design. What do you think about threaded comments? For example:

Other suggestions for features are welcome.

I do recall somebody suggesting a photo gallery for all photography posted, so consider that one on the list.
I think I like the comment format we have where people address a previous comment specifically. I like the linear narrative of it. my two cents.
I am actually with you on that, Deron. I just want to open it up for discussion.
I think that threading or nesting or whatever you want to call it actually works against clarity, though I know that is not the aim. I like what we got.
i’ve seen that sort of threading on other websites, and it doesn’t work very well, simply because if enough people reply, the thread gets too narrow to actually read. part of the fun of clusterflock is ambling through all of the comments.
I’m with deron and shelia.
Don’t like this too much, Andrew. It’s a little Wizzard-like in its helping hand. But I sure thank you for always looking for new ways to make things work better.
I’m really starting to wonder whether Sheila goes by another name. Oh, but the comment design? Add one more vote for the status quo.
I kinda like how this works. I know there a myriad of options out there, but, the straightforward nature of this is nice.
It would be cool if when images, videos etc are posted there was a way of looking at just them – I have on occasions been looking for something and to have them all bunched in a search would make that search easier. I know you can kinda do that if everybody tags in a consistent way. So, anything that makes looking for stuff easier would be cool, especially as the database grows and you may be looking back years!
I’m with Michael, who is in turn with Deron and Sheila.
That wasn’t hard, now, was it?
I’ll be the (lone?) dissenter and say I like them nested.
