Electronman:

OUR COUNTRY IS PAYING THE PRICE FOR DUMBING DOWN OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM TO ACCOMADATE , AND PAY FOR, THE EDUCATION OF THOSE THAT WOULD BE BETTER SUITED IN VOC-ED COURSES. WE WERE A GREAT COUNTRY WHEN WE EXCELLED IN MATH AND SCIENCES, A DAY THAT HAS NOW PASSED US BY. SCREW THE LIBERALS THAT THINK THEY CAN FORCE SOCIALIST IDEALS ON AMERICA, THESE TIMES THEY WILL BE CHANGING SOON. THE FREE RIDE IS ENDING SOON ! I WISH I COULD FIND A BEAUTIFUL, GOD FEARING, FIERCE MOMMA -BEAR LIKE SARAH TO HANG OUT AT MY CAVE…ANY DAY!!! HAPPY FRIDAY FROM TEXAS- WHERE WE BELIEVE IN PAY AS YOU GO ECONOMICS, OR DO WITHOUT. :-)

As if I needed him to tell me where he was from.

Do without pay-as-you-go economics? What does that even look like?

  10. Sheila Ryan on July 16th, 2010 at 2:40 pm

It means that Texas has NO state debt! It’s true! Texans pay as they go or do without. Like Randy Taylor and Randy Taylor’s pappy and his grandpappy before him.

  11. Cindy Scroggins on July 16th, 2010 at 2:41 pm

    THAT’S RIGHT.

  12. Sheila Ryan on July 16th, 2010 at 2:44 pm

There is NOT ONE SINGLE BANK chartered in the entire STATE OF TEXAS that issues credit cards. Don’t believe in ‘em.

    PAY AS YOU GO!

    OR DO WITHOUT!

  13. Cindy Scroggins on July 16th, 2010 at 3:04 pm

OH, YOU CAN GIT A CREDIT CARD BECAUSE WE LET THE MARKET DECIDE, BUT YOU’RE ONE SORRY S.O.B. IF YOU DON’T PAY IT OFF FULL EVER MONTH.

    OR DO WITHOUT.

  14. Sheila Ryan on July 16th, 2010 at 3:08 pm

OR TAKE VOC-ED COURSES SO WE CAN QUIT WASTING OUR MONEY ON FILLING YOUR HEAD WITH BOOK LEARNING.

Yes, let’s just educate the smart ones, like Electron Man. Those lefty freeloaders diluting our educational system shouldn’t be too hard to spot. No need to give them a shot at climbing up to the level of Electron Man who is wanking his jimmy in a bear cave, waiting for Alaskan pussy in Texas.

I spent half of my last day in Texas interrogating Deron on why Texas is …Texas. Trying to understand a future that includes Texas. I thought I made some strides that day, but this conversation has me feeling closer to square one.

  17. Kelsey Parker on July 16th, 2010 at 3:13 pm

Cindy, is there room in your course catalog for a HOW TO BE A TEXAN seminar?

  18. Sheila Ryan on July 16th, 2010 at 3:14 pm

Kelsey, I lived there till I was twenty-one, and I’m still trying to understand. It’s okay. Texas is elusive.

Kelsey, Daryl and I have been considering Northern New Mexico for our upcoming retirement. It’s perfect for us in many ways. But a conversation yesterday revealed that each of us has been harboring deep feelings of anxiety over the thought of leaving Texas. We very likely will stay, despite dozens of reasons to leave.

I can’t even begin to explain it to you. It’s something inside of us.

How To Be A Texan will be team-taught. And people might get shot.

    YOJC

  22. Kelsey Parker on July 16th, 2010 at 3:39 pm

Speaking as the most recent visitor to the state, New Mexico appreciates your consideration. But Texans should stay in Texas.
