oh, that is awesome! I love when you can see the adult human in the baby face.

And: You’ve even been in that room, Deron. So have Phil and Cindy. (The window faces south; to its right is that odd door opening onto the concrete porch/patio.)

Now I’m kind of sorry I didn’t dance while we were there.

    “Everybody was KUNG-fu FIGHT-ing!”

What was really going down was I was gearing myself up for my encounter with Patti Smith twenty years later.

Lor’. I may have to post that OGWT clip.

I think I like little kid pictures of people I know the best. And wouldn’t you like to have that rocking chair?

I coulda had it, Carole. I coulda had everything in that room and more. But I turned my back and took just a few iconic — and portable — items.

Toward the end of the week of sifting and sorting, when I was entering something close to a fugue state, Deron asked a really good question. “Do you think there is anything that you really want that is still in here — anything you want to find?”

I couldn’t think of a thing, and I felt free to go.

Yeah, the chair might have carried too much weight. I understand.

Sheila, I keep coming back to this and can’t find the words. I just love this photo. The little hands. The perfectly-bent knees. Rhythm and blues.

It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing.

I’d like to see you and Patti Smith do a duet of “Gloria”. It would be very good, I think.

    Thanks, Jan.

    Somebody’s sins. Not mine.
