Le Mari de la Coiffeuse (The Hairdresser’s Husband)
Looks as though Cooper and I are sitting at home (our respective homes) on the eve of a (US) holiday weekend. He is listening to Wagner, and I am watching Patrice Leconte’s Le Mari de la Coiffeuse, which I have not seen since 1991.
Carry on.

Ach, la dulzura del baile de la panza.
Oh we love this film. I often think of flooding rain sewers with the sense of allure that the wife must have felt before plunging in.
Ach, mi amigo.
And so happy that other friends love this film, too.
I remember being excited to see this after really enjoying Leconte’s Monsieur Hire. Found it kind of creepy, so we hadn’t been back to his work. Looking on IMDB just now I realize that I’ve missed a pile of work.
So many films, so little time…thanks for the update.
Monsieur Hire was the first Leconte film I saw; the final line — “La vie est dégoutant” (quoting from memory here) — just gutted me. (And yes, Marco, I know what you mean about the creepiness of Monsieur Hire.)
Patrice Leconte kind of disappointed me after my initial enthusiasm, but I want to catch up and reconsider him.
Oh. Just realized you probably meant that you found Le Mari de la Coiffeuse creepy, Marco. I can understand that. Same for La Fille sur la Ponte. I don’t — actually I find Monsieur Hire more disturbing than the other two I mentioned — but I can imagine.
I am taking photos at Anime Fest 2010. I even got a press pass on account of clusterflock. How cool is that?
It is the coolest of the cool. I can’t wait to see.
I had to present a printout of our stats to prove our cred, but I’ve got a badge and everything. The costume show is about to begin.
That is really exciting, Deron.
I’m crazy, or you changed clips since I first commented.
Cooper, you’re . . .
I changed the clip not long after first posting.
Deron, you were born to wear a press badge.
when I got home last night I almost took a camera phone pic of it.
so proud.
Do it for us today or tonight, okay?
I hope others will take advantage of the clusterflock press pass possibility. I wonder how broadly applicable it might be.
I was just going to ask. Not sure how I might make use of a press pass, but the possibility is intriguing.
keep your eyes open.
that might be a fun game.
