Walk into the jaws of hell
Bristol was part of a team led by New Zealand filmmaker/volcanologist Geoff Mackley, at Marum volcano on Ambrym Island, trying to capture the dynamics of an active volcano while adding a human presence for the sake of drama and perspective.

It certainly would be dramatic if the muffler man there caught on fire. Don’t get me wrong… I love lava footage. I just get a little chapped when people put themselves in these ridiculous positions for the sake of “perspective”.

While many residents have fled the island, some folks have chosen to hunker down.
As you can see, the winds have really picked up out here.
