My Cold War
This is my “casual” ski mask. I have a very thin one that lets me easily top off my attire with a hat. The better to disguise the ski mask, in a strange way. Although wearing a ski mask is not usually an under-the-radar activity, except on a ski slope.
I did add the lipstick so I wouldn’t look so scary. On the other hand…

Carole, I can’t hardly see the ski mask with those beautiful eyes in the photo.
You are very kind, Kelsey. To say such a nice thing to a person nutty enough to post a picture of herself wearing a ski mask. Shelia made me do it.
Oh! Oh! Thank you. You look like a very glamorous 1970s German terrorist. And I mean that in the best possible way.
I love being a bad influence.
Now how could the Iowan not like that?
It’s the “you are making a scene” thing, Shelia.
“Drawing attention to yourself.”
I love “Midwestern values,” whatever they might be, but only up to a point. I am thinking that maybe the Iowan might consider that it’s cool when you look like a glamorous 1970s German terrorist — ’cause so many people will be jealous of him. I mean, what if you were a little mouse no one noticed? Where’s the fun in that?
Repeat: I honestly dig the Midwest. It’s why I’ve stayed here since I arrived ’round age 22 or 23 or so.
I get it. Making a scene. Like wanting to dance in the town square when a dance band is playing a tune on a public occasion. But no Iowans want to make spectacles of themselves.
The man would be bored out of his mind without his scene prone southern wife.
Nothing like a good scene! And really, it takes so little to make a Midwestern scene. You just feel obliged to do it, it’s so easy. I mean, why not?
Fantastic, Cece!
I love the way the mask allows one to focus on the eyes and mouth. Beautiful.
My first thought was baader meinhof also.
Phil, I’m glad you saw that, too. It was my first thought.
Some Baader person I would make. I’m afraid of firecrackers.
