God! How I love Gould. Thank you, Andrew. I would never have seen this had it not been for you, today.

I love how he seems so emotionally connected to both the instrument and the music. Good post, Andrew.

He merges with the piano when he plays.

Coincidentally, today I finished reading An Equal Music by Vikram Seth, in which The Art of Fugue plays a major part. I still can’t work out how much I liked the book, but I’d certainly recommend it if you’re a classical music fan. (Unreservedly recommended is his A Suitable Boy – don’t be put off by the length; I wished it was twice as long.)
