“Doubles — anyone?”
“The whole team?”

I didn’t realize she was still alive.
Well, I guess she’s not. Not now.
I wonder if I’ll reach that point at which people don’t realize I am still alive.
Hunh. Maybe I’m already there.
“Holy smoke! Nine o’clock? That’s just when life begins.”
I know. It’s always a sort of sadness when that is the first thought you have when someone dies.
Timing is everything.
Ripeness is all.
Makes me laugh and makes me cry.
Me too, Rick.
“Ain’t there anyone here for love?”
Between this number and “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is a pretty black (bleak) musical comedy.
We’re all here for love.
Ain’t it the truth.
“Men grow cold as girls grow old/And we all lose our charms in the end . . . . “
“But square-cut or pear-shaped, these rocks don’t lose their shape…”
T-Bone Burnett has a great version of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” but I can’t find a free version to share.
Too bad, that would be something to see/hear. I can nearly imagine it.
Send it to you tonight.
Did I ever tell about the night in Fort Worth that I sat with a dozen people, circled around T-Bone Burnett, and we had us a sing-along? Well, I will some day, maybe.
“If you’re Geraldo Rivera, too – God is watching you.”
