    Michael, it was only after my morning coffee that I realized “the one he wears like a mask” referred to Deron’s jockstrap.

    At first I thought that there might a Deron that Joel wore like a mask.

    Joel and the Deron he (Joel) wears like a mask.

    And I got thinking, “Wow, so what if all along it’s been Joel who created clusterflock? And he created this ‘Deron’ persona that he wears like a mask. And then he created a ‘Joel’ persona. For all I know, he created ‘Michael’. And ‘Troy Polamalu’.”

    I was kind of disappointed when the caffeine kicked in.

    Then I read the bit about Deron’s recurring dream, and everything was good again.
